NICOLETTE WHITLEY

Nicolette Whitley is a UK-based performer and educator with a career spanning film, television, theatre, and live performance both nationally and internationally. She trained at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).

Nicolette’s professional career commenced as the joint founder and choreographer of the lyrical contemporary dance duo Alleviate, who rose to prominence as runners-up on Sky 1’s Got To Dance (Series 2). This success led to a leading role in Flash Mob at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre in the West End. Alleviate were also honoured to perform for the Queen at Buckingham Palace and appeared at An Evening with Strictly Come Dancing Stars Karen and Kevin.

After her time with Alleviate, Nicolette continued to grow as an artist through collaborations with award-winning companies and international projects. She has worked with the acclaimed Fallen Angels Dance Theatre, which led to exciting projects with Birmingham Royal Ballet, Russell Maliphant, and Marco Goecke. Nicolette has also performed internationally with Martz Contemporary Dance Company (MCDC), touring across Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. More recently, she has collaborated closely with Tuckshop Dance Theatre, contributing to several productions funded by Arts Council England (ACE).

Nicolette’s commercial credits include The Inbetweeners Movie, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Hollyoaks, Adidas, Stella McCartney, Topshop, BBC3’s Amazing Humans, VOGUE Brasil, Guess, Gap, Sweaty Betty, Shayne Ward’s 2021 music video Coming Home, and commercials for Argos, Virgin, and Oral-B featuring Shakira.

Her performance credits include appearances at The Royal Opera House, The London Science Gallery, TEDx, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Latitude Festival, the 59th Filmfare Awards (India), and 3D Filmusic Barcelona.

As an educator, Nicolette has lectured at the Institute of Arts Barcelona (IAB), Chester University, University Centre Weston, and LIPA. Her international teaching experience includes Switzerland, India, Portugal, Ireland, and China.
