Katy Carmichael has worked as an actor and director in all areas of stage and screen over 30 years. She directed ‘mayday mayday’ at Bristol Old vic studio (Edinburgh fringe review winner- selected for St Ann’s warehouse New York), The Table of Delights (BOV, Bath, Egg and Print room London:Off West End award winner ) The Site Specific Orpheus ( St Pauls Crypt) and Songbirds ( Tobacco Factory and wardrobe theatre).

She has performed internationally with Kneehigh and with Stephen Berkoffs’s company, played leading roles at Bristol Old Vic, Royal Exchange, Liverpool Everyman and at theatres throughout the UK. Her television work includes Spaced, Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Malpractice, The Suspects, The Girls Before, Outlaws, Vera, Safe, Three Girls, Miniaturist, Moving On, The Infinite, Worlds of H.G Wells, Cutting It, Death Of a Salesman, Clocking Off, Liverpool One, The Paul Merton series, And the Beat goes On, Hex, Living and the Dead, Dennis Potter’s Karaoke/Cold Lazarus.

On Film: Martin Amis’s Dead Babies , Origin, Misbehaviour and Disney’s Christopher Robin. She has taught at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, BFI young people’s academy, UWE. Fourth Monkey, The Actors workshop and is a regular on the National Youth theatre audition panel.
